Hairstyles for Gym?
For guys sometimes it's simply put on a cap or hat to hide the mop of hair, or just not bother. I tend not to mind too much about my appearance in the gym as I'm there for one reason only, to work out and get/keep fit! Just as long as I am clean and healthy then it's ok.
Still, it's always nice to be presentable for many reasons, especially in the gym.
Sometimes I just use some gel, wipe that though my hair, brush it back with my hands and it's done! Yet it always seems to look better when I do it like this than if I try to "do it" before going out for a meal or a night out! - Typical! :)
For women it can be a real pain on how to wear your hair in the gym, as longer hair can be harder to manage and you really don't want hair getting in the way of your eyes when you're exercising. So... after looking through some forums, hair based websites, and various information I found some good answers for women's hairstyles when in the gym, one of the best solutions for women's hair in the gym was on "Yahoo! Answers"

The question:
Hey! What type of hairstyles can I do that won't get messed up from running around in gym except for the common pony tail? Thank you to everyone who answers!
The best answer:
Pull your hair into a tight pony tail, then make it into a loose/messy bun. making a tight ponytail first will keep it from falling apart during gym, it will just loosen up a bit. try adding a cute headband or hair clips to spice it up.
Another good solution for fitness fanatics would be to change your hair style to a more manageable style that would work for both day to day as well as the gym! There is some great information and tips on hair styles at www.hair-craft.co.uk
Pull Ups - PowerBar
Finding somewhere to do pull ups without being in a gym is quite hard work, but I have found the perfect solution in the form of a "PowerBar" pull up bar!
The pull up bar isn't one you have to attach to the walls by drilling holes etc. It simply supports itself in a door frame and will hold up to 20 stone! Surprisingly it is very sturdy and works just like the pull up bars you'll find in a gym. With the use of a pull up bar added to any home fitness routine you can really develop a good core strength routine, build muscle even work on your cardio fitness levels.
Arms and abs can be specifically targeted and developed, the great thing about pull ups is that it's your own body weight that you're lifting so it's not going to be too much. I'd recommend everyone getting one of these pull up bars even if you're a gym regular, as it's too simple and easy not to have one in your house! Even for a quick blast on a set of pull ups when you're waiting for your computer to boot up! For under £30 you really can't go wrong.
You just need a sturdy door frame with a few inches either side (not a door frame right next to a corner) to mount the pull up bar and away you go! Pull up to you're hearts content! Read more about body assisted exercises or Calisthenics in one of my previous blog posts.
Olympic Games Opening Ceremony Live
Olympic Opening Ceremony Spoiler
With fitness fanatics everywhere hyped up and excited to view the olympic games opening ceremony today, you may have been confused to see it up on youtube.com before it had actually taken place! It's true, you actually had the chance to see the Beijing 2008 Olympic games opening ceromony before it had even taken place!
The Olympic Opening Ceremony was actually leaked onto youtube.com after someone had recorded the final dress rehearsal and then uploaded it to the popular video sharing site, fortunately youtube.com were instructed to take the video down and complied.
Even so the ceremony itself needs the athletes and crowd there to make it! In my opinion the best Olympic games opening was the Barcelona games in 1992! A true sceptical of the modern Olympics!
Lets hope for some fitness inspiring performances in the next few weeks to motivate people to help meet their own personal goals!
